Step 1: Create the frame
Using 2x2 strips I created the frame of the soundbar and overhead console portion.
Step 2: Create the curve form
Using a tshirt I created the curves by pulling it tight and attaching it to the frame with staples. You can use any kind of material that stretches
Step 3: Apply fiberglass resin
Apply fiberglass resin to the tshirt to harden the shirt.
Step 4: Apply fiberglass matting
Apply fiberglass matting to the now hard tshirt, you should apply at least 3 - 4 layers.
Step 5: Apply fiberglass cloth
Apply fiberglass cloth to the fiberglass matting before it hardens. This will allow you to have a smoother edge for finishing and less sanding also.
Step 5: Apply fiberglass reinforced bondo
Apply fiberglass reinfornced bondo to fill in the gaps from sanding the fiberglass mat. Once this has hardened sand it down smooth and apply another layer
Step 6: Apply lightweight bondo
Apply a light weight bondo to fill in the gaps from sanding the fiberglass reinforced bondo. Once this has hardened sand it down smooth and repeat.
Step 7: Apply primer coat
Apply a light primer coat of paint. Once dried, fill in holes with lightweight bondo and repeat step 6 & 7.
Step 8: Apply paint coat
Apply final color coat of paint. Once dried, sand and check for more pinholes in the bondo. Fill any holes and repeat paint & and sand until desired quality is achieved.
Step 9: Install
I used U bolts to hold the soundbar to the rollbar. The nuts are on the inside and all you see from the outside is the bars.
