Rugged Waves Navigation & Multimedia System
The system is based off of a Shuttle FV24 mobo.
Specs:
800mhz Celeron
256mb ram
60gig 7200 Western Digital
CoPilot GPS
Winamp 2.8
DivX capable
SNES, NES emulators
Computer Case Location
The brain of the Rugged Waves NMS is mounted in a steel Tuffy Understeat Drawer.
Opus Solutions 150w DC-DC Power Supply
Power is supplied to the system from an Opus DC-DC Power Supply. This turns the computer on when the ignition is turned on and turns it off when the ignition is shut off via the builtin shutdown controller. It provides 150 watts which is enough for my system without any problems.
7" 16:9 VGA touchscreen LCD
This is one of the best screens out there, VGA & touchscreen.
Serial LCD
This displays the current playing artist and song information, very handy for when GPS is running and someone asks what song is on or to navigate playlists while GPS or Winamp visulization is fullscreen.
USB gamepad & keyboard
Tucked away in the glove box I have a flex keyboard and a gamepad for NES & SNES control.
PS/2 Trackpad Mouse
Sitting in what's left of the center console storage is teh trackpad used to control the mouse, most items are done with the remote or touchscreen though.
ATI Remote Wonder
I use the remote to control playback of the mp3s. The number buttons load my playlists based off of Genre, easy access to my lists for riders preferred choice of music.
CoPilot 2003
Something that I wondered if it would be worth the expense but it is! This is by far IMHO the best GPS software out there for computers. Instant updates for directions, Points of Interests (including food and entertainment) within X distance of your current location.
